But before your flashy images or JavaScript can load, your server has to respond. This is Time to First Byte (TTFB).

If your TTFB is slow, your LCP will be slow. Period.

What is Response Time?

Our tools measure Response Time as: Connection Time + Request Send Time + Server Processing Time + Header Download Time.

It excludes the time to verify the HTML body. It essentially asks: "How long until the server says 'Hello'?"

Based on Google's recommendations and industry data:

> 1s	🔴 Critical	High bounce rate. Crawl budget waste.

Identify The Bottlenecks

• Pattern A: All pages are slow (~800ms).
  • Diagnosis: Your server, database, or hosting provider is underpowered.
• Pattern B: Most pages are 100ms, but Product Pages are 1.2s.
  • Diagnosis: Unoptimized database query specifically on product templates.
